Bahamas U/15s got off to a winning start on the opening day of the ICC Americas Central Region U/15 tournament on Wednesday with an excellent nine-wicket win over the Cayman Islands.
The hosts won the toss and put Cayman Islands into bat in the 30-over encounter. Cayman's batting simply failed to fire as wickets fell at regular intervals.
In the end they only managed a disappointing total of 81 all out in 21 overs. Just two batsmen got into double digits with skipper Michael Outar scoring 13 runs and Paul Laidlaw chipping in with 10 runs. Bahamas' skipper Abhiram Ramesh along with Ashmeid Allie and Turan Brown captured two wickets a piece.
Bahamas chased down the target comfortably in 15.4 overs, losing just one wicket (Akash Galati) when the scoreboard was on just seven.
