Half-centuries by opener Tharanga Paranavitana and Ferveez Maharoof helped Sri Lanka A win by a comfortable margin of 45 runs against Canada in the second 50-over match played at Colts Cricket Club Ground, Colombo on Monday.
The hosts batted first and built a total of 290-9 with top contributions from opener Paranavitana (77) and Maharoof (67 not out). Khurram Chohan and Umar Bhatti were the mainstay of the bowling attack picking up two wickets apiece.
In reply, Canada lost wickets at regular intervals faced by tight bowling and fielding and were at one stage reduced to 99-6. Ashash Bagai (77) and Umar Bhatti (51) put on a 126-run partnership but failed to take the team to victory finishing at 245-8 in 50 overs.
