A public application process for people to volunteer to be part of these groups recently closed and I’m pleased to advise that significant interest was received.
This, however, means that it will unfortunately not be possible to accommodate all applicants within the advisory groups, and therefore a process of assessing the relevant skills and experiences of those that applied will now be necessary.
This assessment will be coordinated by ICC management, including ICC CEO David Richardson, with the assistance of some members of the previously established USA cricket Local Advisory Group (LAG).
In addition, I’m pleased to announce that former USA Ambassador to Australia, Jeff Bleich, will also lend his support to this process. Ambassador Bleich is now based in San Francisco where he is CEO of Dentons Diplomatic Solutions, and remains an adviser to President Obama. However, it was during his four year term in Australia – from 2009 to 2013 – that he developed a passion for cricket. We are delighted to be able to welcome someone of Ambassador Bleich’s stature and experience to the USA (and international) cricket community.
It is anticipated that it will now take a couple of weeks to assess the applications, after which the national advisory groups will be announced.
