Suriname players to watch in upcoming Regional Championship
Suriname commences their stake on the Division 2 Championship with a slightly modified team, with some changes to the squad coached by Ravindra Seeram. Speaking on behalf of the team, Seeram notes the high expectations he has on the team to deliver the right results in the upcoming Championship. Some key players to keep your eye on are:
Mohindra Boodram – Captain & All Rounder
Transforming himself from a batsman to an all-rounder, this experienced young lad is not just a great player but also a great captain. With hands on experience as a captain in previous ICC tournaments he knows how to manage under pressure situations both on and off the field. "We are a better team than ever with high moral and unity among the team members. We understand that it is very important for Suriname to qualify for WCL", says Mohindra Boodram before he departed Suriname.
Shazam Ramjohn – All Rounder
Being one of the most experienced players in the squad high expectations exist for him from both a batting and bowling perspective. The 38 year old has represented Suriname on a number of occasions and is hoping to walk away with the silverware this weekend.
Coach Ravindra Seeram said, "The team is well prepared and ready to participate in the championship. We have a balanced team with good bowlers and batsmen. They can get the right result for Suriname cricket this week."
Suriname's first game commences at 10am at Brian Piccolo Park this Thursday the 27th of November.
