Both Argentina and Suriname are tied at the top; tournament may be decided by NRR
Day 2 in sunny Nassau, featured Argentina and Cayman Islands at Windsor Park. Argentina won the toss and sent Cayman Islands to the crease, having them 2 for 13 in the 6th and very much on the ropes. Cayman Islands fought back to set a total of 45 but not even man of the match Thompson Hew's 4 for 19 could contain Argentina.
At Haynes Oval Suriname won the toss and sent Bahamas in to bat. Bahamas came out of the blocks firing, hitting 16 off the first 2 overs before succumbing to the line and length of Holder and Moekamat, both claiming 3 scalps a piece. The home side was all out for 46. Suriname got off to a slow start, losing 2 wickets, but managed to reach the allotted total in a run chase that lasted just 3 overs.
Suriname, playing its second game at Haynes for the day, took on the undefeated Argentinians in what promised to be a flashy affair. Tissera found many a boundary early before been dismissed for 32, while Suriname's sub-standard fielding allowed Argentina to build a defendable total of 95. Suriname looked composed from the outset and only managed to lose 3 wickets in reaching the target of 96. Singh was awarded man of the match for his handy work with both the bat and ball.
The Bahamas travelled across to Windsor Park this afternoon to battle it out against an equally young Cayman Islands team. Cayman's strategy to open the bowling with off-spinner Hew reaped early benefits with a double-wicket maiden in the first. Gharbharan and Rhone topped scored for the Bahamas with 20 and 16 respectively. Hew finished with 3 wickets and Bodden claimed 4 scalps. Chasing a target of 58 the boys from Cayman went to work with Bodden scoring an impressive 31 runs from 8 deliveries and achieving man of the match honors.
