Bermuda won the toss and elected to bat but a poor batting display saw them all out for 60 with only opener Shaquille Jones reaching double figures. This was a disappointing end to a week which has seen the young Bermudans play some disciplined and well-structured cricket. Spinners Ryan Persaud and Zahib Tariq shared 6 wickets and Vibhav Altekar picked up 2.
USA were made to work hard for their victory and lost 4 wickets along the way with young spinner Delray Rawlins continuing his excellent week and picking up two wickets. Krishneal Goel top scored with 20 and Amarnauth Persaud was not out with 19.
Points: USA 13 Bermuda 2
Bermuda 69-10 (Jones 13, Tariq 3-3, R Persaud 3-15)
USA 63-4 (Goel 20, A Persaud 19 n.o., Rawlins 2-17)
Due to the early finish of the game the two teams made the most of the facilities by playing a T20 match. Bermuda won the toss and asked USA to bat and Steven Taylor was quickly into his stride. He was first out for 81 with the score on 96. His opening partner batted through the innings for 34. Some strong hitting at the end from Shakeel Ahmad saw USA finish on 189-3. Jordan Smith picked up 2 wickets.
In reply Bermuda was never in the hunt and ended on 104-6 with Shaquille Jones making 25 and Alex Dore 24. Vibhav Altekar was the most effective bowler with 3 wickets. With the aim of the camp being to play as much cricket as possible the extra cricket proved a worthwhile exercise for both teams.
With only one game to go tomorrow (USA v Canada) the points table looks like this:
