Today saw the first match in the ICC Americas U18 Matchplay Camp and saw the two visitors square off at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in South Florida. Canada won the toss and elected to field and saw Bermuda make a solid start and post 52 before they lost their first wicket. Another 50 partnership for the 7th wicket saw them construct a total of 198-8 in 47 overs, the rain seeing the game reduced by 3 overs per side. Christian Burgess scored 50 and Captain Josh Gilbert finished on 47 not out. For Canada, Amanpal Gillar took two wickets and Nikhil Dutta picked up three.
In reply the Canadians were in trouble early as they lost their top order for 46. Their late order rallied though and the mainstay of their innings was a superbly paced 63 not out from Gurkaran Dhillon. He shared partnerships of 46 with Trevor Manoosingh and 68 with Abraash Khan, and was there at the end. The Bermudan bowlers lost their early discipline and the extras count helped contribute to the result. Kwaisi James and Onias Bascome were the pick of the bowlers with 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
