New York region claimed the USACA Super League National Championships by defeating Central East region in the final by 24 runs in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on Sunday.

Electing to bat first, New York put on a respectable total of 250 with Dennison Thomas top-scoring with 72 runs in 74 balls. In response, the Central East region struggled under strict bowling from Kevin Darlington, George Adams and Rashard Marshall and was dismissed for 227 despite a fighting half-century from Ashar Mehdi.

The tournament will help selectors choose players to participate in the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier in February 2010 in UAE and Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 5 in Nepal next year.
