Thanks to King it's all Peru on Day 5
The fifth day of the ICC Americas U15 Southern Division Championship saw the final games of the T20 competition with Chile facing Peru in the morning and the winner playing Argentina in the final in the afternoon.

T20 Game 3 - Chile v Peru

Peru won the toss and sent Chile in. Sebastian IbaƱez went early which brought Luis Felipe Espinaza to the crease and he helped put on a 54 run partnership with Jose Ignacio Palma. The run rate was helped by the frequent wides bowled by Peru (42 in total) and Chile finished the 20 overs at 8 for 129.

James King was the key to Peru's chase and he attacked the Chilean bowlers from the outset but it wasn't until the diminutive Joaquin Salazar arrived after the fall of the second wicket that he was able to build a solid partnership and chase down the target. King finally fell caught behind down the leg side for 94 trying to hit the six that would have simultaneously brought up his century and victory for Peru, but by then it was too late for Chile.

T20 FINAL - Peru v Argentina

After a slightly delayed start while the Peru players digested their lunch, Argentina won the toss and sent Peru in to bat. James King continued where he had left off against Chile and was soon racing to another fifty. He was given good support by Josue Lira and Juan Jose Mariategui who hung around a little longer than the others but it was pretty much a lone hand as he made 72 of the final total of 9-109.

Most of the crowd expected Argentina to knock off the target with ease but Peru had other ideas and in an amazing team effort they knocked over the powerful Argentina team for 107 in just 13.2 overs. King was inspirational with 3-19 but he was superbly supported by Luis ?Chizito' Paredes with 2-37, Josue Lira 2-35 and Juan Jose Mareategui 2-15 and some superb fielding by Joaquin Salazar with a catch and a run out.

It was a fantastic way for the Hosts to finish what has been a wonderful tournament. Special thanks to the support of ICC Americas and Markham College and also the ICC Umpire, Ian Stocks from Argentina and Michael Meade the ICC Scorer from Chile.
