Argentina beat Chile to take the U15 South (40-over) Championship

Chile won the toss and batted but struggled from the outset against the Argentina attack. Martin Peralta bowled very fast and very tightly until he was injured diving for a caught and bowled and had to retire from the game. He had taken 2-20 in 7.3 overs. However it was the consistent Ramiro Escobar who did most of the damage taking 5-10 from 6 overs and breaking the back of the Chilean batting. They were finally all out for 77 in 27.3 overs.
Argentina’s response was supposed to be clinical and quick, but Hans Cerpa had other plans. He steamed in from the Ricardo Palma end dismissing both openers in his first over including Argentina captain Lautaro Musiani in the first ball of the innings. Argentina was quick to recover however and Ramiro Escobar (26 not out) and Mateo Arrighi (29) were soon into their stride. Eventually they scored the runs with 6 wickets to spare after only 12.4 overs.
Tomorrow, the final day of the tournament sees an exciting matchup between Peru and Chile in the T20 competition with the winner to play in the final against Argentina in the afternoon.
