The Cayman Islands Cricket Association is pleased to inform you that the Cayman Islands Cricket Umpires Association (CICUA) has obtained full membership of the West Indies Cricket Umpires Association. This was announced at the recent biennial Convention held in St. Lucia on July 16 ? 23, 2011. CICUA was represented by Umpires Chabienauth Samaroo and Sydney Moore who was also presented with his certification as a fully qualified WICUA Umpire.

The Cayman Islands obtaining full membership means CICUA umpires are on par with all other West Indies umpires and are in line for all benefits, promotions and opportunities afforded to these umpires.

Mention must be made of the forceful and convincing presentation made by Samaroo in convincing the WICUA Council of the achievements of the CICUA. The CICUA has fulfilled the requirements under the WICUA Constitution. The Cayman Islands now has 2 votes on the general council.
