West Indies Under-19s registered a comprehensive victory by 116 runs over the United States of America Under-19s in the first match of their four-match series on Saturday in Miami, Florida.

The Windies batted first after winning the toss on a slow pitch at the Broward County Cricket Stadium in Lauderhill, and made 278 for eight off their 50 overs. They then dismissed the home team for a mere 62 in the 28th over.

Leading the way with the bat was skipper Kraigg Brathwaite, who made a brilliant 121 not out. He got excellent support from newcomer Sunil Ambris with 67 in a partnership of 108 for the third wicket.

In the bowling department, seamer Kyle Mayers was almost unplayable as he destroyed the USA innings. He finished with five for 17 from six overs while spinner Donovan Nelson took two for four from three overs.
