Canada XI posted its first win on the India tour when it beat a Academy XI at the Najafgarh ground in Delhi.
With rain reducing the contest to a 30-overs a side, the Academy XI opted to bat first and made 149 in its allotted quota of overs. Canada XI bowled well by Harvir Baidwan who picked up four wickets. The rest of the bowlers Manny Aulakh, Akshay Bagai, Hiral Patel shared a wicket apiece.
For the Academy XI, Chetan Sharma a Delhi Ranji Trophy player, was the star attraction.
Canada XI chased down the target with eight wickets to spare with Hiral Patel (87) and Trevin Bastiampilai (66) sharing a 146-run stand to put the game away. Canada XI batted out the entire 30 overs to score 182-2.
