Cricket Canada announces new Chief Executive Officer

Cricket Canada has named Chandra Gocool as its new Chief Executive Officer. His appointment is effective immediately assuming the role filled by Ingleton Liburd, who will return to his role as Senior Development Officer.
Gocool is a former cricketer in the Toronto and District Cricket Association and brings his years of service in the government of Ontario to Cricket Canada and its member organizations.
He is upbeat about taking on this role stating that he appreciates the opportunity and also looks forward to the challenge of developing the sport across the country. Gocool's appointment comes at a time when Canada has two teams qualified for two major cricketing events - ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2010.
Gocool also spoke of other issues and priorities that would be dealt with bringing together all that are involved in Canadian cricket. He said: "Together we can develop a synergy that can move the sport forward for the betterment of the game and for the enjoyment and satisfaction of all those who participate."
Interim President Ranjit Saini added: "It is time to build on all our successes and ensure that the sport in the country is strong and Cricket Canada is a vibrant and viable organization. Chandra's task will not be a small one but we have full confidence in him to lead the organization to new heights"
