Canada beat rivals USA and Argentina convincingly on the second day of the Pepsi ICC Americas Twenty20 Championships played in Bermuda on Saturday.
Against USA, Canada chose to field first and limited the opposition to 126 all out in 20 overs with Colvert Hooper being the pick of the bowlers (3-21). Batsmen Zubin Surkari (42) and Man of the Match Hiral Patel (40) then helped Canada reach its target in the 17th over to win by seven wickets.
In its other match of the day, Canada recorded an easy nine-wicket win over Argentina, chasing just 66 for victory. Sunil Dhaniram was adjudged Man of the Match for his excellent bowling figures of 3-5 with good support from Khurram Chouhan (3-20). Canada needed only 6.3 overs to meet its target.
Hosts Bermuda also recorded double victories in the remaining matches of the day by beating Cayman Islands by two wickets and the Bahamas by 11 runs.
The semi-finals and finals of the tournament will be played on Sunday, 6 June 2010.
