Host Bermuda won both of their games on day two of the competition to finish first in Group B. The first two days had the six teams play a round robin in two groups; on the final day playoffs will be held to determine the 1st-6th places.
At the National Stadium Bermuda defeated the Cayman Islands by 2 wickets with one ball to spare. Cayman Islands batted first and ended their 20 overs with 121/5. Kevin Bazil with 38 not out was their leading batter while Rodney Trott was Bermuda's best bowler taking 3 wickets for 11 runs in his four overs.
Bermuda's batsmen made a chore of what was a modest target and finally passed their target wicket with only 2 wickets remaining and one ball to be bowled.
Janeiro Tucker (24), Stephen Outerbridge (32), and skipper David Hemp (33) were the main contributors.
In the afternoon game Bermuda returned on the field to take on winless Bahamas and any idea of a walk over was quickly put to rest. Batting first the home side set a target of 148 with Foggo (41), Tucker (46) and Romaine 28 not out were the top run getters. For the Bahamas Adderley, Peters and Ekanayake bowled extremely well to limit the home side to 148 in their 20 overs.
In reply the Bahamas put on a credible show ending with 137/8, just 11 runs short of their first victory. R.Parks with 45 and Marc Taylor with 34 top scored. For Bermuda Rodney Trott who gave up just 9 runs in his four overs was the top bowler.
