USA and Cayman Islands victorious on Day 1 of Americas T20 Championship
The T20 Championship began on Friday with the Bahamas taking on the Cayman Islands in a group B contests while USA took on surprising Argentina in a Group A match.

At the National Stadium the Bahamas won the toss and elected to bat. Their run rate was well below that expected in a T20 match as a result of some tight bowling by the Cayman Islands led by Marlon Bryan who took 2/16 in his 4 overs and Alessandro Morris who took 3/8 in three overs. Ryan Tappin with 22 and Marc Taylor with 21 were the main contributors to the Bahamian score but their modest total of 101/7 in 20 overs was not a target that would worry too many teams.

Cayman batsmen Ramon Sealy, 39 not out, and Ryan Bovell, 50 not out, guided their team to an easy 8 wicket victory with 4.5 overs to spare
