Esteban MacDermott, skipper of Argentina national team, is confident of his team putting in a good performance in the ICC Americas World Cricket League Division 1 event to be played in Bermuda later this month.
The team is just out of its cricket season and has practiced hard despite training schedules being affected due to inconsistent rain.
MacDermott said: "The team has been training hard and if we put in our 100% and play our best cricket, we can have a good tournament."
"Cricket in Argentina is a minority sport since football takes up most of the attention, but we are growing in popularity every day. A tournament win will surely be beneficial for our growth."
On team strengths and weaknesses, he said: "I think our bowling is tidy and settled and fielding has always been a strong Argentine quality. We need to improve with the bat and that is one area we are focussing on."
Speaking on the targets for Argentine cricket, he said: "Of course, playing in the ICC Cricket World Cup is the ultimate dream for our team, but we have to be realistic and take every game as it comes. We would rather focus on our upcoming tournaments this year, and give it our best shot."
The full squad is as follows: Esteban MacDermott (capt), Alejandro Tissera, Agustin Casime, Grant Dugmore, Alejandro Ferguson, Pablo Ferguson, Donald Forrester, Tomas Francis, Bernardo Irigoyen, Diego Lord, Lucas Paterlini, Matias Paterlini, Gary Savage, Martin Siri.
